Feng Shui cures--you may be wondering if you're new to this...what in the world is a Feng Shui cure? And how can these so-called "cures" help me achieve any of my goals? Good questions that deserve solid answers, don't you think?
In Feng Shui, a cure is a solution to an energetic problem that you're having. Specifically, an energetic problem you're experiencing in your surroundings that Feng Shui holds the answer to. Feng Shui has proven ways of solving problems in specific areas of your life. Areas or life regions, if you will, that are essential to the quality of life you live because each one represents an extremely important aspect of your life.
Career is one of those areas that are deemed important enough to deserve a special region assigned to it on the well known life map that most, if not all Feng Shui practitioners and enthusiasts regularly refer to as the Bagua map. This map is divided into nine life regions - Career being one of the nine.
The Bagua map is a tool that identifies specific life regions for you to pay attention to, and gives general suggestions on what you can do to improve each region...(as it relates to your quality of life), in a Feng Shui manner of speaking.
What does Feng Shui suggest then, as far as cures or solutions that you can apply in your life right now that will facilitate your career success? Let's identify four powerful ones:
- Position your desk so that you can see the door or entrance to your office clearly. Subconsciously, you are more vulnerable if you cannot see the door or entrance to your office. This has to do with taking what is known in Feng Shui as the commanding spot or position in the room. You will experience more power and success by making this simple adjustment.
- Place your desk away from the door, if possible. Although you still want to see the door, having your desk as far away as possible is going to help raise the energy power quotient of your office, which directly impacts your career success. If you must choose between being able to see the door and being in closer proximity, choose the placement where you are able to see the door.
- Position yourself with your back against a wall, but with a space cushion. Having your back to a solid wall behind, with a few feet of space cushion creates feelings of stability and strength. The Chinese believe having a house location with a mountain in the back is one of the best possible locations. It is a position of strength, as your enemies cannot easily sneak up on you from behind. If you have a window behind you, one thing to consider is installing curtains or other decorative coverings.
- Position yourself for success with a high quality office chair. Many of us spend numerous hours a day at our desks. Make sure the chair you sit upon is giving you the healthy and solid support that you need to work in comfort and for greater success. Be sure to test drive several chairs prior to purchasing and look for ones that have good back support and have multiple adjustment points.
Thank you for exploring these Feng Shui cures with me, and I wish you the best for your long lasting career success!
